The evaluation of ocular health and the visual system includes tests consisting of a thorough examination of the health of both the interior and posterior segments of the eye. These tests detect conditions such as cataracts and retinal abnormalities (such as those resulting from diabetes, high blood pressure, and retinal detachments), along with intraocular pressure measurement and optic nerve exploration to screen for glaucoma.
We also perform an assessment of eye teaming and coordination, as well as measurements of the shape and regularity of the front of the eye. Additionally, we determine the presence of nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, and focusing issues.
These tests are conducted using both automated instruments and subjective techniques.
